Vania Zouravilov
Born in Vladimir, a Medieval capital of Russia Vania Zouravilov was inspired from a young age by early Disney animation. His work combines modern images with historical references. He became a prodigy in his homeland and was introduced to famous artists "God Fathers of social realism"who said his work was from the Devil. Vania has exhibited internationally since the age of thirteen, studied art in Edinburgh and now lives in London. He creates highly detailed intricate images full of symbolism. Vania juxtaposes morbidity with beauty, whimsical decay.
I especially love the second image in this post. It is an editorial illustration of M.I.A for Spin Magazine 2010
